We have got to know Martin on our trips to the Highlands, and we both fell in love with this painting when he showed it to us earlier this year.
Sunday lunch surprise
We invited Martin and his partner Annie for Sunday lunch in Kirkmichael in January and he asked if we wanted him to bring some of his current projects. 'Evenly Matched' was among them, his first painting of duelling stags on the Hill.
